Vitalthings launches Guardian Fall – a new standard for detecting and preventing falls

Vitalthings Guardian M10 in operation at St. Olav's Hospital
In October, 44 units of our contactless, proactive patient monitor Guardian M10 were put into use at St. Olavs Hospital. This brings the groundbreaking patient monitor that continuously measures respiratory rate into operation in three departments: the emergency department, orthopedics and pulmonary.
New report: Significant health benefit potential for Guardian M10
Vitalthings’ contactless patient monitor, Guardian M10, could generate annual savings of NOK 13.3 billion and free up to 1,350 full-time equivalents – in Norway alone. This is the conclusion of a recent report commissioned by Innovation Norway.
How we use artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence is a useful tool that is gaining more and more applications also at Vitalthings. "We have very good expertise in artificial intelligence and use it when appropriate," says Ståle Toften, Lead Data Science and Research Scientist at Vitalthings.
Easier to present to relatives
Thanks to proactive health monitoring from Vitalthings, Gaupne Care Center has eliminated manual supervision and reduced stress for night staff. – The fact that Somnofy doesn’t use a camera also makes the solution easier to present to relatives, says Kjell Olav Bondevik.
Has reduced physical and mental strain
Volda Municipality has been using Vitalthings Somnofy for the past five years. This year, they will introduce Guardian H10, bringing the total number of Vitalthings units in operation to over 200 across departments and in home care services.
We've learned so much about sleep
For the employees of Sarpsborg Municipality, Vitalthings' Somnofy has transformed the way they work. – We use it to assess users before implementing measures. Work has become more engaging since we started using Somnofy. It has taught us an incredible amount about sleep. Now, we look forward to testing Guardian H10, says Mona Elise Kristoffersen, Health Technology Advisor for the municipality.
