Technical Project Manager

Bringing the future of health technology from idea to reality

Location: Trondheim, Norway

Application deadline: 31 October 2026

Vitalthings develops technology that improves people’s lives. We combine advanced sensor technology, data-driven algorithms and clinical expertise to enable continuous, contactless monitoring. The technology provides healthcare professionals with insights that contribute to the earlier detection of changes, increased patient safety and better utilisation of resources. Our solutions are used by world-class care homes, hospitals and research institutions, and our ambition is to contribute to safer and more sustainable healthcare services worldwide.

We are looking for an experienced technical project manager who understand technology, provide a clear overview and see projects through to completion. With us, you’ll work closely with developers, product, design, quality and support teams. You’ll turn clarifications into concrete plans and ensure that the right people are involved at the right time.

The role is part of the R&D department and reports directly to the CTO. You will work across the specialist teams and will be responsible for coordinating deliverables and clarifying resource requirements with the team leaders.

This is what you’ll be working on:

  • Lead technical projects and deliveries from the scoping and planning stages through to completion.
  • Draw up feasible plans and monitor progress, risks and interdependencies between specialist teams and external partners.
  • Draw up technical product requirements and acceptance criteria in collaboration with the product and development teams, with a focus on testability, operation and maintenance.
  • Coordinate integrations, major software deliveries and handover to operations and support.
  • Define and describe the necessary testing in collaboration with the relevant specialist teams, monitor its implementation and results, and provide practical support where required.
  • Coordinate and follow up on documentation work, non-conformities and necessary reviews within projects, in collaboration with subject matter experts and QA, and in accordance with our quality management system (QMS).
  • Bring together relevant specialists and lead the follow-up of major technical issues in development and operations.
  • Improve working methods, tools and documentation, and ensure that the improvements are implemented and work in practice.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of leading technical projects involving several specialist teams.
  • Understands the interaction between devices, software and digital services, and is able to discuss solutions and trade-offs with developers.
  • Can translate overarching needs into clear requirements, tasks and a basis for decision-making.
  • Has experience of quality-controlled development processes and technical documentation.
  • Uses tools such as Jira and Confluence to provide an overview and keep work up to date.
  • You can express yourself clearly in both Norwegian and English.

Experience in medical technology or other regulated sectors is an advantage. Experience in test planning, verification or release management is also an advantage. Your background may be in development, systems work, testing or technical project and product management.

You thrive on structured work and see thorough documentation as a natural part of delivering high-quality technical solutions. You enjoy switching between the big picture and the finer details. You take the initiative, identify issues that need clarifying, and follow up on agreements. When plans need to be changed, you contribute suggestions on how to move forward.

With us, you get:

  • A wide-ranging role with responsibility and influence over how we carry out technical projects.
  • Collaborate with experienced colleagues in the fields of sensors, embedded software, digital services, algorithms, design and clinical work.
  • The opportunity to develop professionally and contribute to technology that makes a difference to patients and healthcare professionals.
  • An office at Teknostallen in Trondheim and the flexibility to work from home when your duties allow.

Does this sound like you?

You don’t need to have experience in everything we’ve mentioned. We’d love to hear from you if you have a solid technical background and are motivated by taking responsibility for the implementation.
